Mr Porter x Hypebeast

I recently had the chance to not only style a shoot for my friends over at Hypebeast, but was able to do so with an awesome team and create an exclusive piece for Mr Porter.
Behind the lens was the very talented Carmen Chan, whose work I have been a big fan of ever since moving to Hong Kong, and Gabbie Lee did an awesome job on Hair & make-up.

One of the other things I really get excited about when shooting is the location, you get to see some really interesting places as well as awesome homes etc. This time was no different. We shot in one of the most amazing apartments I have seen in Hong Kong, I seriously had no idea a place like this even existed in this city. I wanted to steal the book shelf for my home!

It's Dark & Hell Is Hot

Once again I've teamed up with Boom Magazine on this latest editorial. Working with Boom always gives me the freedom to keep things pretty street, and with this shoot we decided to take things down a sort of modern hip hop route with a greyscale palette.

With this theme I thought who better to get in front of the camera than my homie from Hypebeast, Arthur and one of m favorite Korean models who luckily for me was in town. Vita has been doing big things in Seoul and abroad and I jumped on the opportunity to work with her.

See below for a select few.

"Modern Gentleman" - Boom Magazine

It's pretty rare in Hong Kong to find models with tattoos, in Australia most would probably have them, but here it's completely the opposite. Since the aesthetic is so clean here, models tend to be as well, so finding one with long hair, facial hair or tattoos, proves quite difficult. I was just about to give up on the search but some how stumbled across Lukas, who was perfect for this shoot. Check it out below or click the link to see the full feature up close on page 26.

"The Speed Of Sound" - Hysteria Magazine

I worked on this editorial a little while back and it's finally published with Hysteria Magazine, the Voices issue.

For this theme, I decided to take a scientific approach, and broke down what "voice" and "sound" literally is.
¹Voice;
pronounced [vois]
- The sound produced in a person's larynx and uttered through the mouth, as speech or song.
¹Sound;
pronounced [sound]
- Produced by continuous and regular vibrations that travel through the air or another medium and can be heard when they reach a person's or animal's ear.
Check out the spread below for the result. Or this small animation of the glitches in action.
